On December 1st, a delegation led by Mrs. Mbhaile, Deputy Minister of Basic Education of South Africa, visited our university. President Peng Shuangjie and Vice President Wu Dan met with the delegation in the conference room of the Administrative Building. Representatives from the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education attended the meeting, while relevant responsible persons from the Faculty of International Engagement, the Department of Domestic Cooperation and Training Management, and the School of Teacher Education participated in the discussions.

President Peng Shuangjie extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He briefly introduced the university’s development progress, noting that with teacher education as its distinctive feature, the university is committed to cultivating outstanding teachers and talents from all walks of life. Adhering to the concept of open education, it actively builds a global partnership network. He emphasized that the university attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with South African educational institutions. The previous visit by a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training of South Africa and the successful holding of the Advanced Training Program for Key Primary and Secondary School Teachers from South Africa have laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two sides. The university is willing to further deepen cooperation with South African educational institutions and carry out practical cooperation in disciplines co-construction, joint talent training, international Chinese education and other fields.
Deputy Minister Mbhaile expressed her gratitude for the warm reception. She reviewed the frequent high-level mutual visits carried out after China and South Africa established a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2010. She stated that the Ministry of Education of China and the Department of Basic Education of South Africa have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, jointly committed to promoting all-round and multi-level educational cooperation between the two countries. The purpose of this visit is to gain an in-depth understanding of the teaching concepts and practical methods of basic education in China. She expressed the expectation to work with our university to promote in-depth cooperation in teacher training, vocational education, preschool education, Chinese education and other fields, so as to further advance people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
During the visit, the delegation also visited the Kindergarten Affiliated to Central China Normal University, the Primary School Affiliated to Central China Normal University. They interacted warmly with teachers and students and observed basic education teaching practices on site.
