Campus France—French Culture Exhibition Open in CCNU

The celebrations of 50th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations saw a feature exhibition of French culture, “Campus France”, open in CCNU on May 17th. A feast of exhibits, lectures, and concerts added an exotic flavor to the campus.

Mr. Philippe Martinet, the French Consul General in Wuhan, and Mr. Yang Zongkai, President of CCNU, spoke at the 10 am opening ceremony at the Fountain Square of CCNU. President Yang gave a warm welcome to the French consulate delegation, expressed his sincere hope for more cooperation with French colleges and universities, and wished the exhibition a great success. Mr. Martinet expressed his deep appreciation for the hospitality from CCNU, and gave a brief introduction to the endeavors in cooperation of the two countries in terms of tourism, technology, trade and higher education.

The exhibition on the Fountain Square gained its popularity with five sections: French Landscape Photography, French Cuisine, French Alliance Culture, French Higher Education and French Technology. Lectures on French higher education and concerts from famous French artists also attracted hundreds of students and visitors on the campus.

For the 50th anniversary of Sino-France diplomatic relations, more events for the general public are planned on university campuses in China to promote exchanges between young people, particularly in the cultural and scientific fields.
