THE World University Rankings 2018: CCNU listed

On September 5th, The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018 was released, which lists the top 1,000 universities from 77 countries and regions. Overall 93 Chinese universities are on the list and Central China Normal University (CCNU) ranks 13th nationwide,500th to 600th worldwide. The result marks a further step of CCNU in pursuing becoming an international high-level university characterized by distinguishing normal education.


     The reason why CCNU can win a place on THE World University list and stand among top universities in Chinese mainland mainly lies in its exceptional performance on international reference data. This achievement benefits much from the “Double First-rate” project promoted by school. By establishing the model of goal-leadingperformance-orientedstratified advance and integral lifting, peak subjects in some fields have ranked top around the world, and world-class research achievements have been produced.


     Furthermore, aiming to promote and modernize the system and capacity of governance, CCNU has been pushed forward an integrated reform in recent years, so that a group of high talents can be attracted and cultivated. Their research works are widely cited by international scholars.

 

World University Rankings are published by Times Higher Education (THE). The top universities rankings use 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available, which are trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.  THE is now considered one of the most authoritative and influential academic rankings together with QS, U.S.News and ARWU.
