China-Indonesia Cultural Exchange Development Forum Held

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Indonesia and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of China-Indonesia High Level Communication Mechanism. On November 13th, 2020 China-Indonesia Cultural Exchange Development Forum, jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Educations China Center for International People-to-People Exchange and CCNU, was held online. Themed on Continue to promote the sustainable development of cultural exchanges between China and Indonesia, the forum focused on the cooperation in vocational education between China and Indonesia during the post COVID-19 era. Over 100 experts and representatives attended the forum, with 3000 people watched the live broadcast.

Deputy General Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at the Chinese Ministry of Education, Fang Jun; Director of the Ministry of Educations China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, Du Kewei; General Director of Vocational Education at Indonesias Ministry of Education and Culture, Wikan Sakarinto; Indonesian Ambassador to China, Zhou Haoli; Vice President of CCNU, Peng Shuangjie; President of Yellow River Conservancy Technical Institute, Zhu Yuhua and Director of State Polytechinc of Bengkalis, Johny Custer attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Peng Shuangjie introduced the current situation and achievements of the cooperation between CCNU and colleges as well as scientific research institutions in Indonesia. He pointed out that confronted with the COVID-19 epidemic thorough the world, the people-to-people exchange between countries was also faced with new opportunities. Countries should join hand in hand to fight against the epidemic and innovate the pattern of educational cooperation and people-to-people exchange. 

A book launch of Annual Report on China-Indonesia People-to-People Exchange Development (2020) was held during the forum. Wei Hong, Director of the Center for China-Indonesia People-to-People Exchange at CCNU, said the report systematically analyzed the achievements and existing problems of the two countries cooperation on People-to-People exchange field. 

At the academic seminar, the representatives centered on several topics and exchanged ideas. They conducted diverse discussions online and contributed wisdom to the communication and cooperation of China-Indonesia vocational education in the post COVID-19 era. After the meeting, CCNU was also invited to attend an informal talk of Ministry of Educations China Center for International People-to-People Exchange and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia.
