Revision:Xiong Kewei, Li ZiyiDate:2019/05/21

From May 6th to 10th, the 8th Huada School on QCD was held at the Institute of Particle Physics of the College of Physical Science and Technology, CCNU. This year’s topic is centered on "Nuclear Astrophysics and Dense QCD". Professor Gordon Baym from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne, Professor Sanjay Reddy from the Institute for Nuclear Theory(INT) of the University of Washington and Professor Yuichiro Sekiguchi from the Toho University were invited to give pedagogic lectures on static and dynamical phenomena of neutron stars as well as the properties of dense matter in QCD.

Over100 young teachers and postgraduates from domestic and foreign top universities and research institutes attended and discussed about equations of state, neutron star mergers, and finite temperature, transport, and time evolution.

As an annual academic activity initiated in 2012, the Huada School on QCD has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China for many times. It aims to introduce cutting-edge scientific research developments and provide basic training for young researchers and students in the field of high-energy nuclear and particle physics in China by inviting world-class scholars to give lectures. Besides promoting the cultivation of talents and international cooperative research in the field of nuclear astrophysics in China, the School also plays a vital role in enhancing the academic status and impact of CCNU in the field of quark matter theory and nuclear astrophysics under extreme conditions.
