On April 24th, the first China-Latin American and Caribbean States Space Cooperation Forum was held in Wuhan. Distinguished guests from Latin American and Caribbean countries gathered together to discuss China-LAC space collaboration and promote the development of space industry.
The School of Foreign Languages at CCNU provided strong support for this event and selected 24 students fromthe Department of Spanish as volunteers to participate in the week-long voluntary service, including language translation, guest reception and venue guidance.
On the day the guests arrived,the volunteers waited at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and Wuhan Railway Station, warmly greeting all the visitors and introducing the urban charm of Wuhan, which showcased our hospitality and made them feel at home.
Smooth communication between Chineseand foreign delegateswas ensured thanks to their specialization in Spanish. They bridged the gap and deepened the bond, demonstrating their professional skills and comprehensive quality with excellent language ability and rigorous working attitude.
During the forum, the exhibition booths showcasing Hubei's intangible cultural heritage displayed Xinzhou Bamboo Sculpture, Hubei Green Brick Tea and Wheat Straw Patchwork, attractingthe attention and interest of many foreign guests. With the help of Spanish-speaking volunteers, these cultural heritages were better understood.
The success of the firstChina-LAC Space Cooperation Forumhas advancedpragmatic exchange and cooperation between China and Latin America in the field of aerospace.In the future, students of the Spanish Department will continue to enhance their professional skills and contribute actively to building a community with a shared future between China and Latin America.
