On April 28, 2025, Beijing hosted a grand ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, where 1,670 National Model Workers and 756 Advanced Workers were honored. Among the recipients was Professor Wan Meirong from the School of Marxism at Central China Normal University (CCNU), who was awarded the title of "National Advanced Worker".

Professor Wan, a doctoral supervisor and distinguished scholar, holds multiple key academic roles, including membership in the Marxist Theory Discipline Evaluation Group under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and serves on two Teaching Guidance Committees under the Ministry of Education. As a national-level talent and recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance, he has earned numerous accolades, such as National Outstanding Youth League Cadre, the Hubei May 1st Labor Medal, the Chutian Educator Award, and the Mingde Teacher Award. His work in Marxist theoretical innovation, discipline development, talent cultivation, and public ideological education has been widely recognized.
The National Advanced Worker title, jointly awarded every five years by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to socialist modernization. CCNU will leverage this recognition to further promote the "Three Spirits"-model workers, labor, and craftsmanship-alongside the spirit of educators, advancing the development of a high-quality education system.
