On November 10th, the Opening Ceremony for 2023 International Students of Central China Normal University was held in the Auditorium of the Science Hall. Prof. Ren Youzhou, Vice President of the university, directors of relevant departments, community & property managers as well as over 200 international freshmen from over 50 countries attended the ceremony.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Ren Youzhou extended his warmest welcome and heartfelt greetings to all of the international students. He first gave a brief introduction to Wuhan and CCNU and expressed his hope that all studnets could adapt to the life here as soonas possible, make full use of the quality educational resources provided by the school, actively integrate into various activities of the school, and become an important force to promote Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges.
Ms.Wei Wei, the teacher representative of the College of International Cultural Exchange, encouraged them to exercise more to maintain a healthy body, and show their talents and cultural characteristics in various activities. She also hoped that the students would reacquaint themselves, keep striving forward in the process of self-exploration, learn to accomplish themselves, and integrate their personalities into the big family of CCNU.
As the representative of freshmen, Yan Yuan, an Egyptian student learning Chinese language at CCNU, also shared his feelings about his new arrival in China. "It's a rare opportunity to study abroad. I have to work hard to pursue success, improve myself, and enjoy my study time at CCNU since I'm already in China. 'Seize your time and brace yourself up, for time does not stop to wait for you'. I know that the secret of success is that the opportunity is not to be missed, the time will never come back."In recent years, CCNU has shifted the focus of international students' enrollment to attract high-quality international students, optimize its structure and ensure the quality of talent cultivation. In 2022, degree students of bachelor, master and doctoral programs account for 88% of all international students. As for now,661 international students from 108 countries are pursuing their study at CCNU.
