As we bid farewell to 2023,let's reflect on the defining moments that shaped the year at CCNU. From the captivating performances of the Sky Choir to the jubilation of graduation season and the vibrant Cultural Festival that brought life to the campus. It was a year brimming with accomplishments and cultural richness. Notably,as the university marked its 120th anniversary,we welcomed Nobel laureates and witnessed the unveiling of a shared gate with WHTU,symbolizing unity and collaboration.
1. Tiankong! 20th Anniversary!
On 21st May,2023,the Tiankong Choir celebrated its 20th Anniversary Concert at Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall. The concert commenced with the song Tiankong II by the female chorus. "The sky is a visible dream and dream is the crystal clear sky." It has symbolized the choir's growth over two decades. The voices resonated with purity,passion,and sublime romanticism,evoking tears from old members who had traveled nationwide to attend. The concert concluded with all members singing the Birthday Song to mark Tiankong Choir's joyful 20th birthday.
2. The Cultural Festival: A Sip of Diverse Cultures
On May 27,2023,CCNU hosted the 6th Guizi Mountain International Cultural Festival under the theme of "Forever Young,Always CCNU".
The event brought together representatives of international students from 53 countries,ethnic minorities within our school and craftsmen showcasing Hubei Province's intangible cultural heritage.
3. Graduation Season Interviews: Stories with CCNU
In the midst of Wuhan's summer,the graduation season arrived. Amid farewells and departures,we shared the inspiring stories of six outstanding graduates.
The tales of students like Akib Irfan inspired us with their passion,resilience, and commitment to their fields of study.

4. CCNU’s 120th Anniversary!
In celebration of its 120th anniversary on October 2nd,2023,CCNU welcomed scattered graduates back to witness the prosperity of their alma mater. As they stroll down Guizi Mountain,memories of their academic journey flooded back. The occasion saw various activities,with global university principals converging on Guizi Mountain to discuss digital transformation and innovation in higher education. An evening cultural performance of CCNU storytelling in the outdoor movie theater captivated every CCNUer's heart.
CCNU now stands at a new starting point,committed to aligning with the country and its people. The university vows to maintain its cultural roots,spiritual pursuits,and achieve new development by adhering to fundamental principles,breaking new ground and advancing with the times.
5. Nobel Laureate Appointed Honorary Professor of CCNU
On October 13th,David McMillan,Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and Professor at Princeton University,visited CCNU with his wife Jane King,delivering a lecture on the theme of "Nobel Prize and the Spirit of Science". McMillan's appointment as an honorary professor marks a significant step in CCNU's strategy to strengthen the university with talents and build a world-class institution. CCNU remains dedicated to talent-led drive, contributing to national scientific and technological innovation.
6. CCNU and WHTU Share a School Gate!
Fostering mutual communication,CCNU and WHTU inaugurated the Friendship Gate on November 13th. This gate facilitates access for students and faculty from both institutions,promoting friendship,academic and cultural exchanges,and fostering deeper cooperation,exemplifying a chapter of mutual benefit and win-win situations.
