In the afternoon of May 10th, the unveiling ceremony of Hubei Film and Television Review Base (HFTRB) and the Opening Ceremony of Beijing College Student Film Festival(BCSFF) were held at CCNU.
At the event, Hu Ying, the secretary-general of the Hubei Film Association, mentioned that the establishment of the HFTRB aimed to create a comprehensive platform integrating film and television review, academic exchange and talent development.
In recent years, China has placed great emphasis on aesthetic education. BCSFF serves as a significant platform in the construction of aesthetic education in colleges. Since 2014, CCNU has become the only branch venue of this festival and has gradually grown into an important stage for establishing the aesthetic education and training system. "In 2016, the Film and Television Communication Research Center of our school held a weekly activity called 'Film Appreciating Salon' to promote film culture on campus with 'film aesthetics', which not only highlights the characteristics of the discipline, but also represents an important achievement in the school's implementation of the immersive aesthetic education which run through all aspects and stages of the school's talent cultivation." said Zhang Jing, the deputy dean of the Undergraduate School of CCNU.
At this event, CCNU also organized the 100th Film Appreciating Salon. Xia Shouxin, Party Secretary of the School of Journalism and Communication of CCNU, said, "Our college will take the construction of the film review base as an opportunity to further increase the discovery and cultivation of student film and television review talents, strengthen research and exploration in the field of film and television review, and constantly improve the visibility and influence of our college in Hubei province in this field."
"This event injected new vitality into the development of film and television review in our university and even in Hubei province, and also set up a new platform for the spread of college students' film culture. In the future, HFTRB will fully leverage its advantages to promote the flourishing development of the film and television review career, and help to make a leap on the level of college students' film and art education." said Peng Tao, director of the Film and Television Communication Research Center at CCNU.
