The finals and award ceremony of the first National College Student Career Planning Competition were held from May 10th to 12th in Shanghai. Wu Liting, an undergraduate from the School of Foreign Languages at CCNU, won the Gold Award in the Growth Track of the College Group.
The National Career Planning Competition for College Students is the first specialized national competition in China aimed at promoting high-quality and full employment for college students. Since its inception in August of 2023, the annual event has attracted 9520000 students from 2740 universities to register.
On May 10th, the finals of college group of this competition was held at Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Wu Li-Ting has set her career goal as becoming an International Multimedia Journalist with the aim of telling Chinese stories to the world.
During the Q&A session, Wu Liting gave an excellent performance when sharing her experience as a Chinese youth representative attending the APEC CEO Summit in San Francisco in 2023. Her performance showcased the exceptional adaptability of international journalists.
In One-minute English Broadcast, Wu Liting demonstrates excellent foreign language skills and remarkable adaptability. Her impressive performance ultimately led her to clinch the first place.
Behind the achievement of this gold medal is Wu Liting's dedicated study and active practice at the School of Foreign Languages. With the guidance of her teachers, she established a solid professional foundation. Through various teaching assistance activities and speech competitions, her professional skills and journalism literacy were enhanced.
During the preparation period, the school and college provided solid support to her, and the instructor Wang Jianyang spared no effort to help her polish the content of her presentation. In the final stage of the national competition, Wu Liting incorporated the teachers' advice and reconstructed her presentation framework. Drawing on the message of the School of Foreign languages, she elaborated the core qualities needed for international journalists and showed an accurate grasp of the target occupation.
At the final contest, in the last minute of the impromptu Q&A, she showcased her extensive experience in English public speaking and adaptability, confidently responding to the prompt, "If you want to know more about how these contestants will perform, come and see." As the timer hit zero, her broadcast concluded seamlessly. While it may appear as if "everything is just right" in this perfect presentation, it is actually a culmination of her three years of accumulation and honing at the university, exemplifying the high-quality talent development of our undergraduate program.
"I will contribute my youth to telling Chinese stories to the world and strive to write a responsible youth chapter for Chinese modernization." The youth pledge is full of feelings of home and country; Wu Liting is increasingly confident in moving towards her future career dream.
