From May 10th to 12th, the 2024 Frontier Intersection Forum Environmental Acoustics and Bioacoustics was successfully held at CCNU, aiming to promote the advancement of environmental acoustics research in China. Nearly 100 experts and scholars, as well as outstanding young scientists and students attended the conference.
University leaders delivered speeches, expressing warm welcome to the experts and highlighting the importance of strengthening interdisciplinary research in environmental acoustics and bioacoustics in the light of increasingly severe environmental noise pollution. They emphasized that such efforts are not only a tribute to nature but also a demonstration of responsibility for the future of humanity.
During the meeting, participants engaged in a roundtable discussion on the theme of "Building a Chinese Environmental Acoustics Research Network (Ears of China)" and "Quiet China". Scholars lively discussed the concept, essence, goals, and action guidelines of "Quiet China", as well as the development strategy, site construction, supporting resources, operational modalities and team development of "Ears of China". In addition, many participants visited the CCNU's "Neuroethology" laboratory lauded Professor Luo Jinhong for his pioneering and interdisciplinary bioacoustics research.
This forum attracted experts and scholars from both domestic and international arenas in the fields of environmental acoustics and bioacoustics, providing a valuable platform for promoting academic exchanges and cooperation. Such collaborations broadened research horizons and injected new vitality into the development of environmental acoustics and bioacoustics in China. With collective efforts towards the construction of a Peaceful China, the harmonious and sustainable development of nature is certain to be realized.
