From October 21 to 23, professor Liao Changyong, Dean of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (SHCM) and a renowned Chinese baritone, led a team to CCNU to conduct aesthetic education. On October 23, a signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement between CCNU and SHCM was held, during which Liao Changyong was appointed as an honorary professor at our university.
Professor Liao Changyong is a distinguished representative of Chinese artists whose beautiful voice resonates globally. He expressed his hope for strengthened cooperation between the two institutions to promote art education and advance Jing-Chu culture.
President Peng Shuangjie commended SHCM's outstanding achievements in music education and artistic innovation. With the formal signing of the agreement, both schools will engage in substantive collaboration in aesthetic education, benefiting each other and enhancing cultural exchange between Hubei and Shanghai.
Liao also heads the Hubei Research and Promotion Center of Chinese Art Song, aiming to optimize art education resources and promote the study and dissemination of Chinese art songs in Hubei Province.
During the visit, Liao and notable SHCM professors provided thematic instruction and on-the-spot teaching of Chinese art songs for CCNU's School of Music faculty and students.
Looking ahead, CCNU and SHCM will work together to contribute to China's strategic goal in education and cultural development.
