In the 2024 Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM), Central China Normal University (CCNU) achieved remarkable success, winning one "Outstanding Winner" prize, two national first prizes, and five provincial first prizes. Both the quantity and quality of the awards represent the record high achievements in our university's history.
Established in 1992, CUMCM has grown into one of the largest and most prestigious interdisciplinary contests for university students in China. In 2024, nearly 200,000 participants from all over the globe registered for the competition with only 0.5% earning the coveted national first prize.
In this year's competition, among the seven undergraduate teams that advanced to the national final interview and defense, two were from CCNU. Both teams secured national first prizes and one team also won the newly introduced award, named the "SPSSPRO Modeling Star".
In recent years, CCNU has constantly garnered numerous national honors in CUMCM, a testament to the dedication of its professors and the university's robust support foracademic excellence. The institution actively promotes participation by organizing math modeling competitions, lectures, and experience-sharing sessions, fostering a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere for students preparing for academic competitions.
