From November 7 to 9, the 14th National Sports Science Conference, organized by the China Society of Sports Science (CSSS) and co-hosted by Central China Normal University (CCNU) and Wuhan Sports University (WTU), was held in Wuhan . The event brought together over 8,000 participants from relevant units of the General Administration of Sport of China, sports research institutes, universities, and enterprises.
On the morning of November 8, the conference officially opened. Distinguished leaders from national, provincal as well as the school level attended the opening ceremony.

CSSS Chairman Li Yingchuan emphasized that sports science and technology workers should seize the opportunity presented by the conference, engage in sports science and technology practices with an open and pragmatic attitude, and contribute to high-quality sports development and the construction of a sports powerhouse.
CCNU President Peng Shuangjie noted that the university has achieved remarkable results in cultivating sports talents. He expressed hope that participants would deepen cooperation, promote the integration of "sports + technology," and jointly contribute to the realization of a leading sports natio and a Healthy China initiative.
WTU Party Committee Secretary Chen Jiping highlighted the university’s role as a cradle of champions and its active efforts in serving the national strategy of building a leading sports nation.
Thematic reports were delivered by Chen Yiqiang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Qiu Junqiang, Professor at Beijing Sport University, on topics including "AI+: A New Model for Sports Development" and "Exercise Prescription in the Process of Building a Healthy China: "Status and Prospects."

On the afternoon of November 7, the Sports Science and Technology Achievement Exhibition of the conference opened at WTU. Attendees included CSSS Chairman Li Yingchuan; Vice Chairmen Xie Minhao and Liu Qing; CSSS Vice Chairman, Secretary-General, and Party Committee Secretary and Director of the China Institute of Sport Science Cao Jingwei; WTU President Lü Wangang; CCNU Vice President Zhou Pengcheng; Xu Jianguang, General Manager of the R&D and Innovation System of Li-Ning Group; Koichi Shiraishi, Executive Director of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., the parent company of Otsuka (China) Investment Co., Ltd.; and Lin Detian, Deputy Director of the Brand and Product Strategy Center of Shuhua Sports, among other leaders and guests.
Cao Jingwei remarked that the exhibition is committed to promoting the transformation of sports science and technology achievements, aiming to make technology serve sports and benefit the public.
Xu Jianguang expressed hope for strengthened industry-university-research collaboration to jointly drive innovation in sports science and technology.
The International Academic Exchange Session of the conference was held on the afternoon of November 8 at CCNU. Scholars and experts from China, Belarus, France, Ecuador, and other countries gathered to discuss cutting-edge topics in sports science and international cooperation. The session was attended by Zhang Xia, President of Capital University of Physical Education and Sports, CCNU Vice President Zhou Pengcheng-and over 150 faculty and student representatives.
In his address, Vice President Zhou Pengcheng expressed hope for building collaborative networks with experts worldwide, jointly cultivating talent, promoting cultural exchange and leveraging sports science innovation to support the development of a leading sports nation and a Healthy China.

Academic presentations were delivered by scholars including Tatiana, Vice President of Belarusian State University of Physical Culture; Chica, Vice President of Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, Ecuador; Shi Lijun, Professor at Beijing Sport University; and Xu Qing, Associate Researcher at Université Côte d'Azur, France, on topics such as modern sports challenges, sustainable development, the health effects of exercise, and the economics of sports events.
During the conference, CCNU hosted 133 paper presentations, 17 case reports, 5 hot-topic salons, and over 3,800 poster exchanges. Nearly 6,000 experts and scholars exchanged research findings on-site.
The hot-topic salons focused on artificial intelligence and sports research, professional development of physical education teachers in the new era, technological innovation in sports, sports for the elderly, and cohort studies in sports science, providing direction for future research.
Sports is not only a pursuit of individual excellence but also a vital component of national rejuvenation and strength.
