On April 25, 2026, the 2026 Alumni Homecoming Convention of Central China Normal University (CCNU), themed Gathering Intelligence in the Airport Economic Zone, Boosting Urban Development with University Surroundings, took place at the Conference Center of Huangpi District People’s Government. More than 300 alumni entrepreneurs, renowned entrepreneurs, government officials, faculty members and alumni gathered to renew friendship, explore cooperation and advance the integration of education and technology in Wuhan as well as the construction of the innovation belt around universities.







In his address, Xia Lixin, Secretary of the CCNU Party Committee, noted that 2026 marks the start of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period. As a century-old university rooted in Hubei, CCNU will build its Panlongcheng Campus into a new hub for talent cultivation, a new engine for scientific and technological innovation, and a new model of university-local integration. He also called on alumni to support the campus development and contribute to win-win cooperation.

Li Zhan, Vice Mayor of Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, spoke highly of CCNU’s contribution to national talent development. He said Wuhan is speeding up the building of an Alumni Economy Headquarters Base and will provide full support for the high-standard construction of Panlongcheng Campus.


Zhou Qiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Wuhan Airport Economic Zone Construction Investment and Development Group, introduced resources around the campus and launched four cooperation priorities. Wang Zhibin, Assistant President of CCNU, presented the planning of Panlongcheng Campus, which will form a coordinated layout with Guizishan and Nanhu campuses, focusing on six priority areas including new normal education, interdisciplinary studies, new engineering and health care, and developing disciplines in AI, integrated circuits, life health and new materials to serve national strategies and strengthen radiating influence in central China.

During the meeting, a batch of high-level projects covering investment promotion, scientific research cooperation and achievement transformation were also signed on site, involving strategic emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, advanced materials and biomedicine, as well as modern service industries including technology finance, health care and cultural tourism.
CCNU Alumni Entrepreneurship Fund was officially launched to pool global alumni resources for Panlongcheng Campus construction and alumni innovation. Agricultural Bank of China Hubei Branch signed a credit agreement with CCNU to support the campus development. Several enterprises and alumni donated to the university.
On the evening of April 24, a special light show was staged along both sides of the Yangtze River and Hanjiang River in Wuhan to welcome CCNU alumni, displaying warm messages such as Gathering Talents in Wuhan, Building the Future Together.
