On May 27, a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar visited Central China Normal University (CCNU). Professor Liu Sanya, Vice‑President of CCNU, met with the guests.
Vice‑President Liu briefed the delegation on the university’s educational history and disciplinary strengths. He noted that CCNU boasts top‑tier national standing in teacher education and the deep integration of artificial intelligence with education. Committed to open education, the university has established partnerships with more than 260 higher‑education institutions and organizations worldwide. It has long devoted efforts to international student education. A large number of Myanmar‑born alumni have returned home to pursue careers in civil service, education and diplomacy, serving as a robust force at the forefront of China‑Myanmar friendly exchanges.
Sandar Tin, Deputy Director‑General of the Protocol Department of Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spoke highly of CCNU’s academic reputation and international achievements. She extended special gratitude to the university for its contributions to training Myanmar diplomats. She expressed the hope that both sides would further deepen practical cooperation in education and training, capacity‑building and cultural exchanges, so as to foster the Pauk‑Phaw friendship between China and Myanmar — a term from the Myanmar language meaning brothers or close kin.
During the visit, the delegation also held discussions with faculty members from the School of Politics and International Studies as well as Myanmar international students, and toured the University History Museum.
