Central China Normal University (CCNU) has long actively adapted to the new situation of Education opening up, continuously expanded the internationalschool-runningpattern, established a global international exchange network, enhanced the global competence and international influence of facultyand students, and continuously strengthened cooperation with top universities and scientific research institutions in the world. Through international exchanges and cooperation, the level of international school-running has been gradually improved, and efforts have been made towards the goal of building a “world-class university leading in Teacher Education”.
CCNU has established a global cooperation network to promote faculty and student mobility inmultiple ways. At present, the university has established cooperative ties with over 100 universities and international organizations from more than 70 countries and regions, conducted student exchange program with over 70 universities, with 4 International Joint Training Projects for Innovative Talents and 2 Russian-Ukrainian-Belarusian Projects approved by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), nearly 400 students funded by the CSC to study abroad, an average of over 1,000 students going abroad–both long-term and short-term–annually, and nearly 1000 overseas exchange visits for the university’s faculty and staff. For four consecutive years, the“Future Educator Overseas Training Program”has been implemented, and a total of 80 outstanding government-funded normal students have been selected to go to the University of Kansas for training. The“Future Digital Teacher Overseas Training Project”has been carried out for five consecutive years, and a total of 90“Future Education”seed teachers have been sent to the United States and Singapore for training. Nearly 2000 experts are invited. 5 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects and institutions have been approved. The annual average number of international students is over 2,000, and the student source structure and educational level are gradually optimized.
CCNU strives topromote high-level international scientific research cooperation, cultivate high-end academic talents, and enhance the international academic influence. Granted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), CCNU has established 2 state-level centers for international science and technology cooperation, as well as 3 international science and technology cooperation centers in Hubei Province. Apart from that, CCNU boasts more that 10 university-levelinternationaljoint research center. It receives nearly 600 long-term and short-term foreign experts every year to continuously deepen scientific research cooperation.
Over recent years, CCNU hasactivelyparticipatedintheactivitiesoftheinternational collaborative platforms such as theSino-Russian Educational Universities Allianceandthe East Asian Teacher Education University Alliance. CCNU has also hosted international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-related academic conferences. The international influence of the university has been continuously improved.
