From January 4th to 8th, President Peng Shuangjie was invited to lead a delegation to visit Hong Kong, where he attended the "Hong Kong-Wuhan Partial Differential Equations Academic Seminar," and visited the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong Financial Services Institute and the Education University of Hong Kong. He also paid a visit to the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and met with the university's alumni in Hong Kong.
On January 4th, President Peng Shuangjie attended the "Hong Kong-Wuhan Partial Differential Equations Academic Seminar," co-hosted by our university and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The seminar aimed to foster research and collaboration in the field of mathematics, particularly in the area of partial differential equations and related models in fluid dynamics, between Hubei and Hong Kong.

On January 5th, president Peng visited the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and held discussions with President Teng Jin-guang. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on further expanding faculty and student exchanges and academic collaboration, jointly organizing international conferences, as well as cooperating in the development of interdisciplinary and applied disciplines such as new liberal arts and "X + Artificial Intelligence." President Peng also welcomed students from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to exchange in the mainland, to participate in the 2025 Voluntary Teaching Service Programme and the "Youth Connection between Wuhan and Hong Kong" exchange activities hosted by our university. He also invited representatives from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to attend the 2025 World Digital Education Conference to be held in Wuhan in May and the second "Global Education Leadership Forum and Global Education Leaders and Department Leaders Alliance Conference" to be held at our university in October.

At the Hong Kong Financial Services Institute, president Peng met with Chairman Wang Zhongying to discuss the expansion and optimization of degree programs at our university's Hong Kong postgraduate teaching site, student internship training, talent cultivation and recruitment, the development of a digital education platform, as well as the promotion of Mandarin in Hong Kong.

On January 6th, president Peng visited the Education University of Hong Kong and met with its President, professor Li Zijian. Both sides reviewed the first "Global Education Leadership Forum and Global Education Leaders and Department Leaders Alliance Conference," jointly hosted by the two universities in November 2024, and discussed the preparations for the second conference to be held at our university in October this year. president Peng expressed in the meeting that the normal universities in China bear special responsibilities and important missions in serving the construction of a strong educational nation and looked forward to further deepening cooperation in the field of teacher education and the training of students who will be assigned to teach in primary or secondary schools. During the talks, both sides also reached a consensus on strengthening faculty and student exchanges and inviting representatives from the Education University of Hong Kong to attend the 2025 World Digital Education Conference. After the meeting, the delegation visited the Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education, the Neuroscience Center Laboratory, the Hong Kong Museum of Education, and the library of the Education University of Hong Kong.

In the afternoon,president Peng paid a visit to the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, where he exchanged views with Minister Wang Weiming on advancing cooperation with Hong Kong universities and institutions, collaborating on history education and textbook development, as well as the recruitment of high-level talents and the cultivation of high-quality faculty.

During his stay in Hong Kong,president Peng also visited the federation of Hong Kong Hubei Associations, where he met with the association's Executive Vice President and Secretary-General Xu Jing, as well as the President of our university's Hong Kong Alumni Association Guo Yiming, Executive Vice President Wu Jianfang, and other representatives. president Peng briefed the representatives on the recent developments of the university, expressed his hope that alumni in Hong Kong would actively support the university's endeavors, and welcomed them to visit their alma mater in the coming future.
