Recently, the research team led by Associate Professor Qiu Ming and Professor Yu Ying published anarticle entitled "Cu-based bimetallic sites' p-d orbital hybridization promotes CO asymmetric coupling conversion to C₂ products" in Materials Today Physics.
The low selectivity and efficiency of CO₂ reduction to valuable multi-carbon products have hindered its industrial applications, largely due to sluggish C-C coupling kinetics. This study provides novel insights into the electrocatalytic reduction of CO to valuable C₂ products using a bimetallic single atom catalyst, offering important guidance for future research in this field.
