Recently, China Daily (English Edition) spotlighted the innovative practices and social contributions of Central China Normal University (CCNU)'s psychological health service platform, particularly its remarkable achievements in psychological support. Launched in 2020, the CCNU Psychological Support Hotline has been committed to providing professional and accessible mental health services to the public.
The Hotline operates daily from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM, serving as a crucial emotional outlet for many. According to the report, the platform has assisted more than 300,000 individuals, receiving widespread acclaim for its compassionate and impactful service.
The platform is powered by volunteers from the School of Psychology and a team of professional consultants. Feng Jing, one of the volunteers, shared, "My goal is to use my professional knowledge and skills to help those in need. Every call represents a trust, and our mission is not only to listen but also to provide a safe emotional haven through empathy and expertise."
As one of the first psychological support platforms in China to integrate artificial intelligence (AI), CCNU's team has developed an AI-based psychological assessment and counseling system. Associate Professor Xia Mian from the School of Psychology highlighted that the platform plans to build a comprehensive online-to-offline mental health support network in the future.
