On June 7, leaders of Central China Normal University (CCNU) held a symposium with the university’s women’s volleyball team—recent runners-up in the Chinese University Volleyball League (High-Level Group)—to deliberate on cultivating top-tier sports talent.

During the meeting, professor Xia commended the team for their national achievement and emphasized CCNU’s commitment to building "outstanding practical disciplines," particularly through strengthening sports disciplines and high-level team development. He stressed prioritizing academic excellence, and establishing a multi-dimensional evaluation system to foster holistic student growth.
President Peng praised the team’s "never-give-up" spirit as a vivid embodiment of both volleyball ethos and CCNU’s core values. He called for promoting sportsmanship to inspire campus-wide perseverance, upholding comprehensive education that includes physical training, and enhancing support for athletes to excel in competitions, academics, and career readiness.
Coaches and team members also shared their journey to the national runner-up title, expressing gratitude for the university’s support. The discussion also covered strategies to deepen sports education and talent cultivation, aligning with CCNU’s goal of nurturing competitive athletes while prioritizing their all-round development.
