On the morning of November 6, a delegation led by Rivers, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde, UK, visited our university. Vice-president Wu Dan warmly received the delegation. Representatives from the Faculty of International Engagement, Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, and the School of Psychology attended the symposium.
At the symposium, Vice President Wu Dan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and highlighted the construction progress and development plans for our university's new Panlongcheng campus.
She emphasized that the new campus will focus on six key areas: innovative teacher education, interdisciplinary studies, new engineering disciplines, health sciences, vocational-academic integration, and international collaboration. It will establish cutting-edge disciplines such as artificial intelligence and brain science, creating a broader platform for international cooperation. Looking ahead, Vice-president Wu Dan expressed her hope that the two universities would establish a joint research center to cultivate composite talents with a global perspective.
Vice Chancellor Rivers expressed great anticipation for future collaboration between the two institutions. He proposed that both parties adopt a "shared classroom" model, starting with remote exchanges to prepare for future in-person activities, such as faculty-student visits and joint summer/winter camps.
During the meeting, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and engaged in in-depth discussions regarding faculty and student exchanges, as well as joint student training programs in fields such as information science and psychology.
