Recently, the 7th China Classic Recitation, Writing and Speaking Competition, sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, has concluded all its stages, with the list of winners officially announced. CCNU secured 21 awards, including 5 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 9 excellence awards, hitting a record high both in quantity and quality. Among these achievements, our university claimed all 3 first prizes in the Normal University Students (Chalk Writing) category of the Ink China Chinese Character Writing Competition in Hubei Province. In addition, only two universities in Hubei Province (including ours) won the first prize in the International Students category of the Chinese Poetry Interpretation Competition and the first prize in the Teachers category of the Chinese Classic Recitation Competition.
The university-level preliminary selection for the Competition kicked off in April. Organized by the University Language Commission Office (School of Teacher Education), the event saw active collaboration from co-organizers including the School of Journalism and Communication, School of Liberal Arts, Faculty of International Engagement, School of Fine Arts and the Affiliated Primary School of CCNU. The organizing team arranged expert selection and evaluation, provided guidance for entries, and conducted video shooting and editing. In June, the university submitted entries to the Hubei Provincial Selection, where it won 42 awards, and 34 of these provincial award-winning works were recommended to compete in the national final.
Since the launch of the first China Classic Recitation, Writing and Speaking Competition in 2019, our university has meticulously organized teachers and students to participate in the competition at both provincial and national levels, accumulating a total of 147 awards, including 87 provincial awards and 60 national awards.
