On December 12, the appointment ceremony for Professor Wei Zhong was held in Meeting Room of the Administrative Building. Professor Wei Zhong, a leading scholar in the field of Chinese economic history research, officially joined the School of History and Culture of our university. Leaders from the university and the school attended the ceremony.
The dean of the School of History and Culture introduced Professor Wei’s academic background and achievements. He noted that Professor Wei has made remarkable accomplishments in the research of modern Chinese economic history, social history, and regional economy, enjoying an outstanding academic reputation. His joining will effectively promote the interdisciplinary integration of history and economics at our university and inject new momentum into the university’s “Double First-Class” initiative.
In his speech, Professor Wei mentioned that he will rely on the school’s solid foundation in modern Chinese history and economic history research, work hand in hand with teachers and students of the school and strive to advance theoretical innovation and methodological development in the field of Chinese economic history. He is committed to contributing to the development of the university’s history discipline through solid academic achievements and effective talent cultivation.
On behalf of the university, Party Secretary Xia Lixin presented the appointment letter to Professor Wei and extended a warm welcome to his joining.
