From January 18 to 24, the 6th International Conference on Green Plant Protection Innovation China-Sri Lanka were held in Sri Lanka. President Peng Shuangjie attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech as invited.

Relying on platforms of the State Key Laboratory of Green Pesticides and the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Prevention and Control for Tea in China–Sri Lanka, our university hosted the Sub-Forum on Green Functional Molecule Creation.
The sub-forum focused on cutting-edge directions in green chemistry and functional molecule creation, with more than 130 representatives from over 20 scientific research institutions around the world participating. Experts at the forum held in-depth discussions on topics including green functional molecule design, green synthesis methods, key technologies for green prevention and control, and achievement transformation, sharing the latest research progress and application prospects. Faculty and students from our university delivered keynote speeches at the conference and sub-forums, sharing their latest research results and contributing Chinese solutions to global plant protection challenges.
During the event, teachers and students of our university visited the Faculty of Agriculture at Wayamba University and held in-depth exchanges with Professor Kapila Yakandawala, Dean of the Faculty, Professor Surantha Salgadoe, and other scholars, and toured the tea plantation. The two sides reached a number of cooperation intentions on academic cooperation, joint scientific and technological research, student exchange visits, and other fields.

In recognition of our university’s outstanding contributions to China-Sri Lanka bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Sri Lanka awarded our university the China-Sri Lanka Plant Protection Cooperation Award and Professor Zhang Guozhu from the State Key Laboratory of Green Pesticides the China-Sri Lanka Agricultural Chemistry and Technology Cooperation Award respectively.
