On June 9, 2026, a delegation led by Academician G.Q. Max Lu AO, Vice‑Chancellor of Deakin University, paid a visit to Central China Normal University (CCNU). Peng Shuangjie, President of CCNU, together with Vice‑Presidents Liu Sanya and Wu Dan, received the delegation. Relevant department heads of CCNU and officials from the Deakin‑CCNU Joint Research Institute attended the symposium.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Deakin‑CCNU Joint Research Institute jointly established by the two universities. President Peng reviewed the fruitful achievements of the institute over the past decade in talent cultivation, faculty exchanges and scientific research collaboration. He noted that CCNU is advancing the implementation of its 15th Five‑Year Plan and the construction of the Panlongcheng New Campus. Taking the 10th‑anniversary milestone as an opportunity, CCNU hopes to broaden cooperation channels, promote integrated undergraduate‑postgraduate training programs, and deepen academic and research exchanges to lift bilateral cooperation to new heights.
Academician Lu Gaoqing introduced Deakin University’s Vision 2035. He spoke highly of the long‑term cooperation outcomes between the two sides and proposed further in‑depth collaboration in Sino‑foreign cooperative education, joint research projects and co‑hosted academic conferences.
Following the symposium, both sides attended the 2026 Graduation Ceremony of the Deakin‑CCNU Joint Research Institute.
