On September 19, Kazi Sajjad Zahir, Chairman of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, visited Central China Normal University (CCNU). President Peng Shuangjie met with Zahir at the Liberal Arts Research Building.

President Peng extended a warm welcome to his guest and briefed him on the university’s development. He noted that CCNU is distinguished by its teacher education programs, upholds an open approach to running the university, and has long been committed to international student education in China. China and Bangladesh share a history of friendly exchanges spanning more than a thousand years, Peng said, and Bangladesh is an important partner for China in advancing Belt and Road cooperation in South Asia. The university stands ready to deepen collaboration with Bangladeshi educational institutions and jointly cultivate more high-quality talent with a global vision.
Zahir thanked CCNU for its hospitality. He said Bangladesh and China are close and friendly neighbors who know each other well, and that China has long supported Bangladesh in investment and manufacturing. At present, he noted, many young Bangladeshis aspire to study in China to learn from the country's development path and practical experience. He sincerely invited CCNU faculty and students to visit universities in Bangladesh, and expressed his hope that the two sides would work together to advance in-depth cooperation in education, the economy, culture and other fields.
During his visit, Zahir also delivered a special lecture to faculty and student representatives of the School of Politics and International Studies, titled “From National Liberation to Social Transformation: Bangladesh and Socialism,” followed by an enthusiastic discussion.
