On Sept. 29, Central China Normal University (CCNU) and Hubei University of Education (HBUE) held a signing ceremony for their strategic cooperation agreement along with a pairing and co-construction ceremony for their secondary schools, at HBUE. Leaders from both universities attended the ceremony.

Party Secretary Zha Daolin and President Zheng Jun jointly signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement, which covers key areas including teacher education, disciplines and scientific research, talent cultivation, and services to basic education. Heads of six pairs of secondary schools from the two universities signed “Pairing and Co-Construction Task Letters” in turn, witnessed by leaders of both institutions.
In his speech, Party Secretary Zhang Wenxue noted that the two universities share deep historical and academic ties and have long conducted productive cooperation in joint graduate training, mutual faculty appointments and shared platforms. He called the ceremony an important opportunity to shift bilateral collaboration from periodic cooperation to regular, two-way empowerment, and a key move for HBUE to draw on high-quality resources, raise its level of development, and advance its pursuit of master’s degree-granting status and its “Double Excellence” development initiative. He said the partnership would accelerate the translation of quality resources into practice and inject strong momentum into both institutions' high-quality development.
Party Secretary Xia Lixin spoke highly of HBUE’s long-standing commitment to its teacher-education mission and its contribution of large numbers of excellent teachers to basic education in Hubei. Located in the same Wuhan science and education hub and sharing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, the two universities have already built a solid foundation through joint graduate training, teacher-education platforms and cadre exchanges. He expressed hope that both sides would further deepen and expand strategic cooperation through outstanding teacher training, disciplinary and research synergy, and services to local education development, creating front-line teaching practice platforms for CCNU students and jointly writing a new chapter of university-to-university collaboration.
Grounded in their shared teacher-education identity, the partnership will leverage CCNU’s disciplinary strengths alongside HBUE’s locational advantages and its education digitalization pilot platform, building a school-college, multi-level cooperation framework. Both sides will adopt a project-based approach to deliver the co-construction tasks.
