On Oct. 14, a delegation led by Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Sindh Province, visited Central China Normal University (CCNU). The delegation was accompanied by Chen Hanhua, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Hubei Provincial Committee. CCNU Party Committee Secretary Xia Lixin met with the delegation, and Vice President Li Zhisheng chaired the meeting. Representatives from the Department of Global Engagement, the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, the School of Politics and International Studies and the College of Chemistry, along with faculty representatives and Pakistani students currently studying at CCNU, joined the discussions.

Xia extended a warm welcome to the guests. He noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, and that the two countries are all-weather strategic cooperative partners. Education and people-to-people exchanges play an important bond role in building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era. CCNU has drawn on its strengths in teacher education and artificial intelligence in education to maintain long-standing exchanges with Pakistan’s science and education community, and has trained large numbers of Pakistani students over the years. The university looks forward to expanding practical cooperation with Pakistani counterparts and welcomes outstanding teachers and students from Sindh to study and exchange at CCNU, contributing to the cause of China-Pakistan friendship.
Murad thanked CCNU for its hospitality and spoke highly of the university’s more than century-long academic heritage and its record of cultivating talent for the country. He noted that Hubei Province and Sindh are sister provinces and that China-Pakistan friendship has been passed down from generation to generation. Pakistani students in China serve as envoys of friendship between the two peoples, and he hopes they will return home after graduation to contribute to Pakistan’s development. He expressed hope that educational institutions in Sindh and CCNU would strengthen cooperation in scientific research, exchange visits for teachers and students, Chinese language education and teacher training.
During the symposium, faculty representatives from the four participating units introduced their disciplines, research achievements and international talent cultivation programs, while Pakistani students shared their experiences of studying and living at CCNU. The atmosphere was lively as delegates exchanged freely with faculty and students.
The delegation also toured smart classrooms on CCNU’s Nanhu campus and the exhibition hall of the National Engineering Research Center for Educational Big Data Application Technology.

Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, the visit established a dialogue platform for educational exchange between CCNU and Sindh, opening new opportunities for practical cooperation in education, research and talent cultivation.
