On July 11, the award ceremony for the 17th China Crop Protection Industry Association Scientific and Technological Award was held in Anhui Province. After evaluation by the committee, the project "Innovation and Application of Green Pesticide Molecular Design Method" led by Professor Yang Guangfu from the National Key Laboratory of Green Pesticides at CCNU won the first prize for scientific and technological progress.
The development of green pesticides is recognized internationally as a major scientific and technological challenge. The project "Innovation and Application of Green Pesticide Molecular Design Method" addresses the key scientific issue of “the interaction between small chemical molecules and target proteins of different species”. Through interdisciplinary, integrated innovation, the project developed new molecular design methods using artificial intelligence, significantly improving both efficiency and success rates. It has guided the creation of two new green pesticides and six candidates currently undergoing the registration process.
The China Crop Protection Industry Association was established in 1982 and is one of the earliest industry associations in China's chemical sector. The Scientific and Technological Award of the China Crop Protection Industry Association is a recognized science and technology award registered with the National Office for Science and Technology Awards. It is reviewed and awarded annually and is divided into the Technology Invention Award and the Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
