On September 10, the Opening Ceremony and Orientation Seminar for the 2024 international students was held in the Science Hall. Vice President Liu Hongda and directors of relevant departments attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Vice President Liu Hongda warmly welcomed the freshmen from around the world and encouraged them to make full advantage of the university's excellent learning environment and rich extracurricular activities. He urged international students to excel in Chinese language and majors, gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, share the stories of CCNU and China, and serve as cultural envoy, contributing to the construction of the community with a shared future for mankind.
Lecturer Lu Ye, on behalf of the College of International Cultural Exchange, also welcomed the freshmen and emphasized the commitment to serious teaching and supporting each student's growth. He required the freshmen to abide by the laws of China and university rules and actively participate in campus activities to showcase their talents and cultural identities.
Senior students Sadura and Li Leyang shared their study experiences at CCNU and their love for Chinese culture, encouraging new students to study hard, embrace Chinese culture and strive for personal growth.
Freshmen representative Yan Cai expressed his gratitude to CCNU and promised to cherish the opportunity to study here, aiming to become an excellent international youth who can foster friendship between China and other countries.
At the end of the ceremony, Vice President Liu Hongda presented the CCNU emblem to Yan Cai.
Following the Opening Ceremony, the College conducted an orientation seminar for freshmen, including a detailed introduction to the services provided by the International Student Management Office, like enrollment procedures, academic administration, and student support services. Additionally, the orientation featured practical workshops on mental health, personal safety, legal education, and financial security. The College also offered guidance on notary certification services to ensure the students are well-informed and prepared for their academic journey.
