On June 5th, the finals of the Women's Group of the 2024-2025 Chinese University Volleyball League (High-Level Group) was held at Xiamen University of Technology. After nearly two hours of intense competition, the women's volleyball team from Central China Normal University(CCNU) won the runner-up with excellent technical performance and tenacious fighting spirit, achieving the best historical result since the team was founded.
As the annual event of the highest level of volleyball in Chinese universities, this competition gathered more than 800 strong volleyball teams from 39 high-level universities in 32 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government across the country to participate in the competition.
Led by head coach Liu Mairu, the women's volleyball team of our university qualified from the group stage as the third place, and then passed all the way, defeating Jilin University, Minzu University of China and Beijing Sport University with large scores of 3:1, 3:0 and 3:1 respectively, and advanced to the final, demonstrating the spirit of unity, hard work and tenacious struggle of the women's volleyball team. The final adopted the best-of-five system. Facing the powerful defending champion Nanjing Normal University, the players were not afraid and fought hard, losing 20:25, 19:25 and 22:25, and finally won the runner-up.
